Why should I use this Service?
We
designed this service with affordability and convenience in mind for both
you the subscriber, as well as the mobile user on the far end. There may
be services that offer free messaging to subscribers but they more than
make up for it by charging the mobile user at the far end e.g. the
Philippines more than enough to compensate. Those models are not ideal
because the burden of cost is 100% imposed on the mobile phone user at the
far end. The following comparison should make draw a clearer
picture:
| Cost
per Message |
Syner-G WebSMS |
Other
Services (may vary) |
| Charge
to you to Send a message |
$0.06 |
10
Free per day dependent on your credit which is increased by messages
sent from PI |
| Charge
to your friends/family to reply to you |
1
peso |
15 to
20 pesos dependent on carrier |
The bottomline is WebSMS users like you are usually the ones not in
the Philippines, thus are earning a little more than those in the
Philippines, if you are tired of your friends and/or family saying "wala
na akong load" (i'm out of credit) that is because they are the ones
paying extra, 15 to 20 times the normal rate is actually way more than
extra, which does not make sense, and doesn't seem fair to them. With us,
they are only being charged the cost of a local text message that only
cost them 1 peso.

How do I use
tExtMail?
In your Online Addressbook, all of your contacts have an E-Mail Address for you to fill in. Log-In to My Account, Edit your Addressbook, add or select a contact to Edit, and then fill out the E-Mail Address (e.g. name@emailaddress.com) of that contact. Save your changes and you are ready to send an E-Mail to your contacts with valid E-Mail Addresses. To send from your mobile phone, write an SMS in the following format: @nickname messagebody... and send to the applicable gateway in your area (16719884040 or 16714882130 for GTA users). For your contacts to send an E-Mail to you they can either reply to your message or create a new E-Mail and put "gti" in the Subject Line of the E-Mail for security purposes.

Where can I send text messages
to? Right now you can send to mobile phones in Headquarters
Guam and in the Philippines, regardless of where you are sending from.
Other locations will follow as demand increases. You can also send to
other Syner-G WebSMS Clients by placing their G-Tech registered User
Names. e.g. If you add a contact with "manny" as the phone number and you
send a message to it, it will go to my Syner-G WebSMS Client. (if you're
going to actually try this, please try to keep it clean, you might scare
the children. ;)

Who can send messages to
me? Once you send a message to a mobile phone user, the system
will recognize that number as one of your contacts. Any of these users can
send you a message at anytime after you send them a message once. Any
Syner-G WebSMS Client user can send to another as well

Why won't my Client Software
connect?
For new users, we recommend that you do not use the Client Software. Instead, you may send messages by clicking on GO TO MESSAGE CENTER once you logged in. If you, however, are an existing Client Software user and you are accessing the Internet from within a network, you may have to talk to your network administrator to open up port 7110 for the software. You will also have to change the setting in the setup.ini file in your SMS Client Directory. Change the host parameter to the firewall/proxy server IP (internet protocol) address.
